Book Review: The Dead Girl's Dance

Title: The Dead Girl's Dance
Series: Morganville Vampires (Book 2)
Author: Rachel Caine
Published: 2007

Claire has her share of challenges. Like being a genius in a school that favors beauty over brains; homicidal girls in her dorm, and finding out that her college town is overrun with the living dead. On the up side, she has a new boyfriend with a vampire-hunting dad. But when a local fraternity throws the Dead Girls' Dance, hell is really going to break loose.

My Review: The Dead Girl's Dance picks up just where Glass Houses left of.

What can I say, it was nice to meet the characters in Morganville again, especially the youths in the Glass House. All of them are such great, likable characters! Shane's my favorite of course; he's a bad boy with a hot temper. If it was up to him, he'd go out killing vampires all day. But Claire brings out a softer, gentler side of him, and he even cries in public. Claire is the main character, a young brainiac. Claire is probably the person that has grown the most in this series; she started up as a shy, insecure girl, but the life in Morganville forced her to grow a tougher side. Michael is probably the most responsible person in the house, he's caring and protective. Eve is a tough goth girl who refuses o let anybody hurt her friends. Together they make an incredible group of friends that I would love to be a part of!

This book wasn't as fast-paced or action packed as Glass Houses, but it was still a pretty good book! For once the vampires in Morganville wasn't the main treath, no Shane's dad and his motorcycle gang were. In a war between vampires and criminals, who's side are you going to take? Your heart and your brain might say to different things. . .

I really liked this one, though I think Midnight Alley is still my favourite. I'm glad you're enjoying the series so far!

I absolutely adore this series. It just seems to get more addictive as the series progresses! Also, I agree about Claire and her friends--they'd be great to hang around, especially if I found myself stuck in a town like Morganville!
