Book Review: Spirit Bound

Title: Spirit Bound
Series: Vampire Academy (Book #5)
Author: Richelle Mead
Published: 2010

Summary:
Dimitri gave Rose the ultimate choice. But she chose wrong…

After a long and heartbreaking journey to Dimitri’s birthplace in Siberia, Rose Hathaway has finally returned to St. Vladimir’s—and to her best friend, Lissa. It is nearly graduation, and the girls can’t wait for their real lives beyond the Academy’s iron gates to begin. But Rose’s heart still aches for Dimitri, and he's out there, somewhere.

She failed to kill him when she had the chance. And now her worst fears are about to come true. Dimitri has tasted her blood, and she knows in her heart that he is hunting her. And if Rose won't join him, he won't rest until he's silenced her...forever.

My Review:
In Spirit Bound the characters of Vampire Academy are definitely growing up and changing.
Rose has always been one of my favorite female characters, but in Spirit Bound she really got on my nerves. She was selfish and annoying and treated people badly.

Rose and Adrian are now in a relationship, but Rose can't let her feelings for Dimitri go, and she's obsessed with the thought of saving him. Poor Adrian loves Rose more than anything and is willing to do anything for her. But Rose hardly notices him, she's so caught up in her thoughts about Dimitri.

After Rose's graduation it finally hits her - she is an adult now. She can't just run off whenever she wants too. When you're working as a guardian you're not allowed any free time, you have to be constantly alert and aware of your surroundings and possible dangers.

In true Vampire Academy spirit, Spirit Bound ended with a cliff-hanger. This time Rose is caught up in a dangerous situation that even she will have a hard time to get out off.

I really look forward to reading The Last Sacrifice, the 6th and final installment. While this has been a great and addictive series, I'm ready to say goodbye.
