. . . or not to read?
I've been thinking about starting the Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare, but to be able to read them, I would have to buy the books. What do you think, is it worth it? Have you read the books? What do you think? I would love to hear your opinions, whether you liked the books or not, So comment away!

I'm still reading this one and it's been amazing so far! Love the characters as well. It's worth it, I think. Really. Original plot. Good writing. And everything. :)
City of Bones - as with all the books in the series are WORTH the buy - it's an awesome series - one that I own and would not part with to save my life - well maybe to save it LOL.
Also, perhaps you could borrow them - I would be happy to offer my copy to borrow - I know as a book lover you will take good care of them - and I know they would be safe LOL.
Definitely worth buying!!!

Ive read City of Bones and City of Ashes. I have City of Glass but i havent read it yet.I also have all 3 books on audio books too.The reason I havent read City of Glass yet is I am waiting for 2 weeks befor City of Fallen Angles is Released that wait I can reread books.

I'll just put it this way. I liked it so much that I sold my paperbacks and went back to the store and bought them in hardback! :)
Personally, I'd recommend getting it from the library. It's not that it's bad, but I had a hard time getting through it because of the descriptions that wouldn't die (and the similies of doom). Check out my review of it to see what I mean.
I think that they are definately worth the buy!
I personally didn't like them, but I'm also a critical reader. I didn't think the quality of the writing was very high and the plot was a bit predictable. But what really turned me off was the creep factor with Clary and Jace. I kept saying 'eww' thoroughout all three books. :)
So if you can get the first one from the library, I'd say do that. If you end up loving the first one, you'll love the rest.
Err, well... I know a lot of people love the series, and I really liked the City of Bones - until the end. The end sort of put me off the other ones in the series. Good luck deciding!
