Book Review: The Dark Divine

Title: The Dark Divine
Author: Bree Despain
Published: December 2009

A Prodigal Son
A Dangerous Love
A Deadly Secret

Grace Divine—daughter of the local pastor—always knew something terrible happened the night Daniel Kalbi disappeared and her brother Jude came home covered in his own blood.

Now that Daniel's returned, Grace must choose between her growing attraction to him and her loyalty to her brother.

As Grace gets closer to Daniel, she learns the truth about that mysterious night and how to save the ones she loves, but it might cost her the one thing she cherishes most: her soul

My Thoughts: Before reading this book I had a few concerns about the main character, because a pastor's daughter named Grace Divine? Definitely makes me feel that she will be conservative, moralistic, and eager to please everyone. But Grace was way more likeable and way fiercer than that! She was strong-minded and stubborn, and really wanted to do the right thing.

Daniel was the ultimate bad boy – hot, mysterious, dark, dangerous and haunted. All attributes that makes a guy so interesting and attractive. You root for him, and want to help him. I am sure many readers will get a book crush on him!

I more than once thought I had this story figured out, only to get more confused than ever during the next chapter!

This book is full of twists and turns that keep you guessing until the very end, and you never know what the story has in store next for Grace, Daniel and the other characters.

I have read that the sequel, The Lost Saint, is even better than The Dark Divine, so that book can obviously be found on top of my wish list!

I just read this, followed by the Lost Saint. Both are phenomenal! :) I did like the Lost Saint a bit more. Fab review! :)
